“War on Cars” is certainly a provocative name for a group, since it’s something that pro-car advocates often accuse urbanists of waging. Certainly it’s not how I’d describe what I do, because cars are essential in rural areas, useful in suburbs, and at their most destructive only in cities.

But it was great to do a half hour podcast with Sarah Goodyear on the War on Cars Podcast. Sarah is coauthor of the book Life after Cars. We had a great conversation about the new edition of my book and how to be an effective advocate. Atlanta, Portland, and New York are among the cities discussed. It’s here! Hope you enjoy.
