When an animal is sick or injured, having the right veterinary equipment can make all the difference. Ultrasound machines help veterinarians look beneath the surface, identify health problems, and make treatment decisions, without the added cost and challenge of traveling to an outside facility.

That’s why SPCA International is bringing this important technology directly to animal rescues, shelters, sanctuaries, and nonprofit veterinary clinics across the United States.

We’ve already been able to distribute ultrasound machines to more than 20 organizations caring for animals across the country, and we’re planning on delivering dozens more by the end of the year. These machines will help veterinary teams provide better, more accessible care to the animals who depend on them.

Helping Animals Where They Need It Most

Among the organizations receiving an ultrasound machine is Chimp Haven, a nonprofit sanctuary in Louisiana that provides a permanent home to more than 300 chimpanzees rescued from laboratory research.

We’re also providing equipment to SNAP, an animal hospital in California that offers free spay and neuter services to pets belonging to low-income community members. An ultrasound machine will give their veterinary team another important tool to provide comprehensive care.

In Texas, ultrasound machines are headed to Yaqui Animal Rescue, a nonprofit rescue near the Mexico border caring for approximately 250 animals, including dogs, cats, horses, cows, pigs, chickens, and more.

We’re also delivering ultrasound machines to shelter partners in Virginia, North Carolina, Wyoming, Colorado, and Utah.

Each organization has unique needs, but they all share the same goal: giving animals the best care possible.

For shelters, rescues, and nonprofit clinics working with limited budgets, veterinary equipment can be a major expense. By providing ultrasound machines, we can help remove some of that burden and give veterinary teams the tools they need to save and improve more lives.

We’re proud to support the organizations on the front lines of animal welfare and help make better veterinary care possible for animals across the country.
